Bajra Daliya Upama

Here is a simple recipe for Bajra Daliya:


  • 1 cup Bajra Daliya
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 Tomato, chopped
  • 1 Carrot, chopped
  • 1 Potato, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Coriander leaves, chopped


  1. Rinse the Bajra Daliya and drain the water.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add 2 cups of water and the Bajra Daliya. Close the lid and cook for 2-3 whistles.
  3. In a pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes to the pan and sauté for a few minutes.
  5. Add ginger paste and garlic paste to the pan and sauté for a few more minutes.
  6. Add salt to the pan and mix well.
  7. Add the cooked Bajra Daliya to the pan and mix well with the vegetables.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
