Jowar Daliya Upma Recipe

Ingredients:
- 1 cup jowar daliya (broken sorghum grains)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
- 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup coriander leaves, chopped
Instructions:
- Dry roast the jowar daliya in a pan until it turns light brown and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and asafoetida. Once the mustard seeds start crackling, add green chillies and onion. Saute until onion turns light brown.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
- Add roasted jowar daliya to the pan and mix well.
- Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste. Mix well and let it cook on medium flame for 15-20 minutes or until all the water is absorbed and jowar daliya is cooked.
- Turn off the flame and add lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney or any other chutney of your choice.
Note: You can add any vegetables of your choice like carrots, peas, beans, etc. while cooking to make it more nutritious.
